I plan to add several hundreds of such, so importing/exporting of this inormation is crucial. Each of sub-products has its unique ref.no and price.
I tried to test a function of importing products with its sub-products from. so i wouldn't try risking hosting from my own nas at home, unless you know what you are doing. Im considering creation of an Internet shop with Toweb v10 commercial edition. you can backup your site to your nas from time to time, so if anything happens, you can wipe the server and recover from your backup (and fix whatever security hole that got your site compromised). My quick and easier solution to all of this, is to just simply get a cheap bluehost webhosting subscription service and host the website from their own server. It's complicated to setup, but essentialy you minimize your risks, if you are going to be doing this o-o don't try to multipurpose your single nas to perform both roles as a local storage for important data AS WELL AS a web server. Instead use a SEPARATE nas for that purpose, so if your remote nas does get compromised, it doesn't have anything important, cause all that stuff is on your other nas that is segregated out to your private lan.
